ABOUT ME
Marco Alpi was born in Castel San Pietro in August 1994 and grew up on the outskirts of Imola, in the province of Bologna.
His approach to painting began from childhood, he attended the painting course of the Liceo Artistico P.L. Nervi of Ravenna, later graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna and the two-year pictorial period of the Albertina Academy of Turin.
Experiment with painting on canvas and simultaneously on the wall,coming into contact
with the world of street art. The use of acrylic colors in particular is a feature that unites both disciplines and, focusing on painting, there are often also the use of gold leaf and charcoals of various types.
He has been working on the wall since the age of 15 learning the use of spray cans, rods and rollers as well as stencils. In 2012 he formed the Restart group with other young people, still active today, which focuses on urban regeneration especially in the territory of Imola and surrounding areas.
The latter significantly influences his artistic work in particular
in the choice of materials and in the formation of a characteristic pictorial sign strong and marked excavator. The incisive charcoal lines coexist on the canvas together with soft and pastel colored backgrounds thus forming an evident contrast.
